I could mention every cliche in the world about traveling - and they’re probably true. But as a Black American, I think the benefit is stepping outside of this country to realize how much you’re actually getting mistreated here. I always wanted to travel internationally, grew up with this weird attachment to London, and once I got money I said hell yea let’s do it! When I first came back to the states, I got the same feeling I had as a child, which was questioning over and over “do I really belong here?”. Regardless, home is where the heart is and if like me your heart is all over every single continent, get out there and see something - your home is already there!
